Dr. Betül Göfteci graduated from Faculty of Dentistry, Ankara University in 1990 then she started to study in the Department of Periodontology at Gazi University in 1991. As well as she was studying periodontology, she worked on implantology with Prof. Dr. Ateş Parlar. In 1993 she was appointed as a research assistant in the same department.

During her doctoral studies, she gave lectures at scientific conferences and she made clinical and histological studies. She has 11 published scientific articles. Her latest article is named ‘The effect of corticotomy on tooth movements during canine retraction’ has published in Journal of Orthodontic Research, 2015. In addition to her scientific articles she participated in many multidisciplinary clinical and histological studies. Also she took part in the organization of scientific congresses such as 3rd International Dental Congress (1996, Ankara) and the National Congress of Oral and Dental Health (1993, Ankara).

She received the degree of PhD in Periodontology in 1997. In the same year she started to take courses at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Gazi University and she started to work at 75th Year Oral and Dental Health Center.

She worked with Dr. Kristi Soileau and Dr.Hisham Nasr on Periodontology and Implantology in a private clinic in the New Orleans, United States between1998 to 2000. She did research as well as clinical studies in this clinic. Retrospective and histological studies were carried out by her. At the same time, she attended the course that “Treatment of Osseous Defects by the Use of Microsurgery” provided by Leslie E. Broline (Austin, Texas), James M. Belcher (Nova Southeast University, FL) and Gail G. Childers (Turnersville, NJ), organized by AAP 85 Scientific Congress (September 25 to 29.1999, San Antonio, Texas). Also she participated the course that “Implant Placement and Bone Grafting and Sinus Lift with Cadavers” issued by Arun K.Garg (University of Miami), Richard J. Lazzara (West Palm Beach), and Dennis P. Tarnow (University of New York), organized by AAP 86. Scientific Congress (May, 2000, Washington DC).

In 2000, she returned from New Orleans to her duty in 75th Year Oral and Dental Health Center. In 2001, she was commissioned in the establishment of the Ottoman Oral and Dental Health Center. She went abroad again in 2004.

In 2006, she began to live and work in the TRNC. She worked as a periodontist and implantologists during the time in the TRNC. Also she took part in oral and written press to inform the community about periodontal diseases and implantology. 
Her articles related to periodontal disease was published every week at the corner of Health Line in the Yeni Düzen Newsletter (July 2007 – February 2008).
Also she was guest to speak in the fields of Implantology and Periodontal Disease in a health care program that published at BRT (December 2006, Nicosia).
She was the guest speaker for two weeks in health program published at Sim FM (December 2006, Nicosia).

Dr. Betül Göfteci came to Istanbul in 2010.

In 2011, she started to use dental lasers for periodontal treatments and biomodilation after oral surgeries. She has been using Fotona Dental lasers since 2012 for periodontology and oral surgeries including implantoology. She has given the lectures and hands-on courses on Laser assisted Periodontology&Oral surgery in the national and international congresses and symposiums .

In 2015 and 2016, she was  one of the lecturers in EXIM (Expert in Implantology) and in EXPER (Expert in Periodontology) programs that organized by Global Dental Association with DGOI (German Association for Oral İmplantology) partnership. Also she was one of the lecturers  in examination module of EXIM program prepared by DGOI.

In 2017, Dr. Betül Göfteci participated in BoxTechnique International One Day Course/ Hands-on Pig Mandibles Workshop at OMNIA Spa facility in Fidenza.

In 2018, she successfully completed the five-module course of study in the Laser and Health Academy (LA&HA) Master’s Program after presenting the lecture was named ‘Enucleation of radicular cyst using Er-YAG laser with PIPS protocol’ at Lasers in Medicine and Surgery Symposium in Slovenia.

She has the Advanced Instructor title awarded by LA&HA. She was one of the lecturers for Module 5 of LA&HA Master ’s program (including live periodontal treatment and oral surgeries) held on March 2018 and May 2019 at the Medicadent Dental Clinic in Istanbul. 

Dr. Betül Göfteci has given hands-on course as dental lasers expert during 27th Annual Scientific Meeting of EAO at Fotona’s exhibition booth in Vienna in 2018. She was one of the workshop leaders during LA&HA Comprehensive Workshop: LightWalker Laser Dentistry at 7-8 December 2018, in Ljubljana-Slovenia.

She was invited as guest speaker to present the lecture that was named ‘Treatment of Peri-implantitis by Er:YAG Laser Decontamination and Regenerative Surgical Approach’ at the 16th International Fotona Weekend on May 2019, in Slovenia.

Dr. Betül Göfteci had worked at Medicadent Dental Clinic in İstanbul between January 2013 to August 2019.
